2017 Parker Hannifin Community Service Challenge

Parker Hannifin is celebrating its 100th anniversary by challenging each division and have 100 percent employee participation in community service projects. Dee Gillette, human resources manager at the Union City location said “We’ve done several projects so far. We are planning an ongoing cycle of projects.” One of the projects had employees sweeping the sidewalks on Main Street in Union City. Others were completing preparation work on local baseball and softball fields, painting at parks, hosting blood drives, and bake sales. Some employees also helped with the “Union City Borough Clean-Up the Streets Day”.

The Union City location is competing with other Parker Hannifin locations. As of the first part of June there had been about 51 percent of Union City plant employees who have participated. “A lot of our employees have been really responsive and engaged in this Challenge. They are a part of this community and they want to see it prosper. Our goal is to reach that 100 percent participation marker and keep going,” Gillette said. “We have a lot of exciting things coming up, and if the public would like to join in, they are more than welcome,” Gillette said. “We want this to also be a way to bring the community together.”
